MUSEUM OVERVIEW Paintings, photographs, posters, folk art and sculpture that have defined Blues Music over the past 150 years. Showcasing the history and importance of Blues Music. A variety of artists, sculptors, photographers, folk artists, indigenous peoples. George Hunt’s bold, colorful original paintings and Blues Festival Posters will be a strong anchor for the Museum. Hunt has been creating large new paintings over the past five years specifically for the The National Blues Music Art Museum. Exhibits include: A focus on Beale Street, Birth of the Blues in Mississippi, Chicago/ Electric Blues, African Roots, Black Plantation art, Blues Festivals, Blues Had A Baby and They Called it Rock n Roll, and more. The facility will present authentic blues music in a small setting on a regular basis with the purpose of bringing the images from the museum to life. George Hunt will maintain a working studio as part of the Museum and conduct regular EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS for inter-city kids who are interested in art.
